Enneagram & Strengths
According to the Enneagram test I identified best with the number 1. This enneagram number states that the person is a perfectionist and has self-discipline. The person likes order and loves to see improvement within themselves and others. I think this totally describes me because I have always been labeled as a perfectionist and now that I have been told it a fair number of times, I realize that I do in fact like things to be done a certain way and when anything shy's away from this I see it as a con. I also love to see people succeed and I love to achieve this success as well because it makes me feel accomplished.
Next, according to the Donald Clifton 2.0 strength assessment my top five strengths are as follows, harmony, responsibility, consistency, belief, and discipline. 4 out of my 5 strengths were in the execution category with the other being in the relationship building category. I most definitely agree with the results from this test and after further observing previous approaches and behaviors about myself I can completely see how this is true.
As I was reading the defining strengths for myself, I realized that every word described me so well. A few phrases that stood out to me that described me best were impatient with errors, strong religious beliefs and values, utterly dependable, believe that a consistent function is best, and loves order and planned out things. I totally see how when I am in the middle of hearing a conflict I am quick to avoid because I do not want the drama and also how I am the type of person to follow through. I don't always want control, but I will take it if that is what is needed to help the group succeed. All of these things describe my personality so well and I think it is what makes me the leader I am today.
One thing I know that I can improve on is realizing that there is beauty in imperfection. Not every little thing must be done "correctly" to create a masterpiece and sometimes I think i put pressure on myself to create without mistakes when really it is all part of the process. One thing that I can lean more into according to my leadership personality would be that I am organized and I can use this to create order within the teams and organizations of which I am part of. Staying on task and being disciplined is a great trait to have and I feel blesses knowing God has given me those strengths.
